For some weird reason it took super long for the aura to activate, but even tho it says Defiance, it was in fact Holy Freeze with monster getting cold. I gain no bonus Defense stats either. As for other options, as Artless said, Act 3 Cold Mercs are great with FCR items, since they don't need mana they can spam their Ice moves all day freezing enemies.
